I'm not going to meet my course deadline. Can I get an extension?

Yes, it is possible to get a course extension. If you are a learner that joined a course as part of our Courses for Good beneficiary programme, you will have been sent a voucher providing you with additional time that you can redeem. Do I need to upload as I go, or can I upload all modules at the end of the course?

You can upload the modules all in one go at the end of the course or as you learn it’s completely flexible and there is no rush to upload them. We only start to mark your work once we have received your self-evaluation document at the end of the course.

How do I upload my work

I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems uploading your worksheets. Let me outline the steps for you:

  1. Log in and go to the ‘Upload Work' tab on the left hand-side panel
  2. Select the module number you wish to upload work to
  3. Then select ‘Upload completed worksheet’ from the column tab
  4. Choose the file(s) you want to upload
  5. Press update

Your work will be then uploaded to the module. You can check it has uploaded successfully by clicking on the ‘home’ tab on the top right side, then scroll down until you see the modules listed left to right. Click the module you have just uploaded your work to and view the 'upload complete’ section. You should then see your document listed here.

I’m struggling to upload my documents.

We recommend that you watch the video on your dashboard which will show you how to use your platform. This takes you through how to upload your work step by step. The system only accepts PDF and Word files, so make sure that you are not trying to upload a document saved in another format. If so, simply email that document when you send in your self-evaluation form on completion of your course.

 

How do I know if I have uploaded my work successfully?

If you are unsure if you have uploaded your work successfully, simply:

 

    1. Go to the homepage.
    2. Scroll down until you see the module numbers left to right.
    3. Click the relevant module you have uploaded work to.
    4. Scroll down to the ‘Upload Complete’ section at the bottom of the screen. If you have uploaded your work, it will display there as a link.

Can I get feedback on my work before I submit it?

You will have access to the following free support channels during your time learning with us:

  1. Live webinars – these run each week and allow you the opportunity to ask questions directly to the tutor.
  2. Learner forum – our tutors moderate the learner forum, so any questions you ask will be answered directly by a tutor. It also allows you to learn from other learners via open discussions.

How long will I have to complete the course?

For the Management and Leadership and Mini MBA in Peak Performance and Productivity, learners have three months to complete their course. The Career Coaching course requires two months. However, if a learner is part of the beneficiary Courses for Good programme they will receive a voucher for additional time as a beneficiary benefit, which will extend the deadline further. Charity learners receive a voucher for an extra 3 months (taking the time allowance to 6 months); small business learners receive a voucher for an extra month (providing 4 months in total).

Can you provide details of your accreditation provider?

OCN Credit for Learning is part of the Open College Network Group. Accreditation through OCN means our learners can be confident that the training they receive has been mapped to national academic standards, and has been passed through their validation procedures. It is also reassuring to know that we are externally moderated each year, which reinforces the quality of the overall learning experience for learners.


Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a certificate with nationally recognised credits. These learning credits can then be transferred if the learner was to choose to go on and do a formal qualification later down the line.


So for example, if a learner really enjoyed the coaching module in our Management course, and decided to complete a formal qualification in coaching later in life, he or she may be able to put these leaning credits towards their course, reducing the work they need to complete, as the educational institution accepts that some of the work has already been covered during their time learning with us. However, I must add that each educational institution has their own rules on this, so best to check with them beforehand.

What level are the courses accredited and what is this similar to?

The Management and Leadership course is accredited up to a Level 3 and 4. The Career Coaching is accredited to a Level 4. A Level 4 equates to 30 hours of learning and each learner will achieve 3 learning credits. Level 3 equates to 20-25 hours of learning and learners will achieve two learning credits. All learning credits are recognised by the National Academic Framework.

How is a learner’s work assessed?

Our grading team will start to mark a learner's work once we receive the learner's self-evaluation form, which is completed at the end of their course. This notifies us that we can download the learner's uploaded worksheets and start the assessment process.

Each learner should then receive his or her grade within 7 - 14 days.

What support channels will learners have access to during a course?

Each course participant will have access to three free support channels during their time learning with us:
